ANGEL ACOSTA, Broker Assistant
Angel Acosta joined Commercial Texas in August 2005 as a Broker Assistant. She supports the Agency Leasing, Tenant Representation, Financial Services and the Industrial and Land Services Groups with client-related and day-to-day activities.
Prior to joining Commercial Texas, Acosta was with Commercial Real Estate Solutions (CRES). During her seven years at CRES, she provided property research and general assistance to the firm’s brokers. Acosta also spearheaded the firm's marketing efforts by developing and expanding relationships with the Central Texas brokerage community. Acosta regularly volunteers for Meals on Wheels of Central Texas.

CARL CONDON, Vice President, Tenant Representation Group
Carl Condon joined Commercial Texas in April 2003 and specializes in office leasing. During his time with the firm, Condon has been involved in leasing over 285,000 square feet of space with a transaction value of over $22 million on behalf of leading organizations. His clients have included TIAA-CREF, Ameritrade, DeVry University, ISO and Nokia.
In 2000, Condon began his real estate career with Colliers International. He was involved in leasing nearly 190,000 square feet of space for clients including Vignette Corporation, the Whitaker Companies, ProfitFuel and the State Bar of Texas. In 2001, Condon was recognized for closing the most transactions by a Collier’s broker in the Austin-area. During his career, he has successfully completed over 95 transactions totaling more than $36 million.
Condon began his professional career in the golf industry at Barton Creek Resort and Club. After three years, he served as Senior Assistant Golf Professional. He oversaw the daily operations of the Fazio Foothills Golf Course and taught golf to members and guests.
Condon earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and competed for more than four years on the varsity golf team. In the community, he is a member of the Commercial Leasing Brokers Association of Austin (CLBA) and the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA).

CHRISTINE R. CORNELIUS, Associate
Christine Cornelius joined Commercial Texas in November 2007 as a Broker Assistant. Now as an Associate, her roles include supporting the Agency Leasing, Tenant Representation, Financial Services and the R & D, Industrial and Land Services Groups with client-related and day-to-day activities.
Prior to joining Commercial Texas, Cornelius studied at the University of Texas and worked as an Accounts Payable Administrator and Operations Assistant with McKinney Properties. During her two years at McKinney Properties, she was active in recruiting new talent, developing and managing the annual budget and working with vendors and contractors to research and streamline proposals for presentation to corporate officers.
Cornelius earned a Bachelor of Science in corporate communication studies from the University of Texas at Austin with minor in business administration and Spanish.

BENITA DRYDEN, Vice President
Benita Dryden joined the Commercial Texas team in July 2008 as Vice President. With over 24 years of proven expertise in the Austin, Texas commercial real estate industry, Dryden joined Commercial Texas with the desire to continue her focus on office and industrial leasing and sales.
Dryden began her real estate career in 1984, and has built a solid reputation in the industry for maintaining long and trusted relationships with her clients. Together with her in-depth knowledge of the market, this gives her the ability to concentrate on details in the negotiation process that provide long-term value to her clients.
As a native Austinite, Dryden has been active in both local and national professional associations. She served as president in 2000 and is a current member of the Commercial Leasing Brokers Association. She is also a member of the Austin Commercial Real Estate Society.

LEE ELLISON, Vice President, Industrial & Land Group
A Member of Realtors Land Institute and National Association of Realtors
Lee Ellison joined Commercial Texas in August 2003. He brings a wide range of real estate knowledge and expertise, specializing in industrial leasing and land sales. He has worked with clients such as State Farm Insurance, Mellon Properties, Seton Healthcare Network and Golfsmith International.
Ellison began his real estate career in 1993 working in the research department of a local real estate firm. Over the next 10 years he continued as the Research Director for national firms such as Cushman & Wakefield and Grubb & Ellis. In 1996 he entered the brokerage business with Colliers Oxford Commercial focusing on the Central Texas land market. He assisted users and developers with site selection and disposition.
Ellison is a member of the Realtors Land Institute and National Association of Realtors. He is a past member of the Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council as well as a past chair and current board member of the Del Valle Adopt-A-School Board. He also mentored for three years at a local elementary school and volunteered at the Austin Children's Shelter.

BURKE KENNEDY, Associate, Tenant Representation Group
Burke Kennedy joined Commercial Texas in June of 2001 as an intern, becoming a Broker Assistant in 2003 and an Associate in January 2006. During Burke’s time at Commercial Texas, he has been involved in leasing over 115,351 square feet of space with a transaction value of over $17 million on behalf of leading organizations including the Texas State Historical Association, American Institute of Architects, Convio, Jefferies and Company and Axalto.
Burke is currently responsible for securing assignments and providing on-going marketing, research and customer service to tenants and owners.
In the fall of 2004, Burke Kennedy received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. In the community, he is a member of the Commercial Leasing Brokers Association (CLBA), the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) and Uptown Circle of Friends, a charity organization dedicated to raising funds for Dell Children’s Hospital.

MICHAEL A. KENNEDY, SIOR, President
Mike Kennedy's role as President of Commercial Texas is not limited to managerial functions. Everyday he is on the frontlines creating value for the fiscal well-being of leading companies. Throughout his career, Kennedy has been recognized as one of the most active office leasing and sales brokers in the Austin area.
Kennedy’s notable accomplishments over the last two decades include the negotiation of the Austin anchor leases in 2002 of Clark, Thomas and Winters, Akin Gump and Austin Ventures, which led to the construction of the first Central Business District high-rise building in the city in 14 years. He also played an integral role in the consolidation and relocation of Franklin Federal Bancorp's 81,000-square-foot headquarters at 111 Congress Avenue, the sale of the 380,000-square-foot Republic Plaza building, the $21 million dollar sale of Lavaca Plaza in the Austin CBD in 2000, the sale of the 400,000 square-foot Chase Tower in 2006, and the record breaking sale of 300 West 6th for $131 million.
Kennedy is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas and the South Texas College of Law in Houston. He is an active office member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), a charter member and past president of the Austin Commercial Leasing Brokers Association (CLBA), and a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), the Texas Bar Association, the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
Kennedy serves as President of the Zachary Scott Theatre Board and is a former Board of Trustees Member of the Austin Museum of Art (AMOA) and a Founding Fellow for the Austin Bar Association. He has contributed numerous times to the Annual Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Forecast Forum and has spoken at Austin Technology Council and Continuing Legal Education events. Kennedy is a frequently-quoted expert on commercial real estate trends in Austin and has published numerous articles.

ZOE KING, Executive Director
Zoe King joined Commercial Texas in October 2005 as Executive Director. With over 15 years in law firm operations management, she leverages her extensive experience to support Commercial Texas' overall growth strategy. King’s role focuses on overseeing day-to-day operations of the firm, including marketing, human resources and general office management.
Prior to joining Commercial Texas, King was Office Manager and Administrator for Thompson & Knight LLP. While at the firm she was responsible for financial management issues, recruiting, marketing and supervising support staff. King began her career at Thompson & Knight, spending several years as Office Manager for Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP before returning to the firm.
King has been an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators since 1998 and has served as Chairman of the Salary Survey Committee. She is also an active supporter of Austin Adopt-a-School

DAN MEYER, CCIM, Associate, Industrial & Land Group
Dan Meyer joined Commercial Texas in April 2003 as an intern. He became an Associate in July 2004 and is part of the Industrial & Land Group. Since joining the firm, Meyer has worked with clients including Trane, Crate & Barrel, Halff Associates and the Manor Independent School District.
During college, Meyer was an active member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and the Silver Spurs Organization. He served as vice president of Silver Spurs his senior year and through the organization, Meyer also volunteered as a tutor with the Neighborhood Longhorns tutoring program.
Meyer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish and a minor in Business Administration. During the summer of 2002, Meyer participated in a Costa Rican study abroad program where he furthered his Spanish education.
Meyer holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member certification (CCIM). Currently, Meyer is an active member of the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) serving on both the Regional Issues and Transportation Committees. He is also a member of the Commercial Leasing Brokers Association (CLBA), and the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Young Leaders Organization. In addition Meyer serves as a board member for the Silver Spurs Alumni Association.

KATHY MORGAN, Executive Assistant
Kathy Morgan joined Commercial Texas in August 2007 as Executive Assistant to Mike Kennedy, Russell Young and Zoe King. She brings a diverse background of commercial real estate experience from the banking, appraisal, project management, development and title industry.
Prior to joining Commercial Texas, Morgan was with Heritage Title Company of Austin in the commercial escrow division. During her four years at Heritage Title, she played a vital role in a growing escrow and closing team.
In 1983, Morgan began her career in Austin commercial real estate at Interfirst Bank Austin, N.A., as a commercial real estate lender. With 12-years of experience working in the banking industry, Morgan has undertaken positions leveraging on her finance and real estate experience.
Morgan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

RUSSELL D. YOUNG, CCIM, SIOR, Executive Vice President
Russell Young joined the Commercial Texas team in 1998. His real estate expertise and unwavering commitment have been invaluable for clients ranging from Scott Douglass, Wilson Sonsini, and Aspyr Media to CompassLearning, Austin Ventures and Lloyd Gosselink. Prior to his tenure at Commercial Texas, Young was a top-producing salesperson, recruiter, and manager for the Southwestern Company, based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Since joining Commercial Texas, Young has completed more than 200 transactions equaling more than 2.6 million square feet. He has been ranked as a CoStar Power Broker for four years and named as one of Austin Business Journal’s Heavy Hitters in tenant representation for three years.
Young holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member certification and is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. In 2003 Young served as President of the Commercial Leasing Broker’s Association (CLBA). In addition, he is a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
Young earned a business finance degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he frequently serves as an expert speaker on commercial real estate at the McCombs School of Business. Young is also a speaker at the annual Continuing Legal Education Negotiating Leases Conference, a frequently quoted expert and author on trends impacting Central Texas’ commercial real estate landscape.
He is consistently recognized by the Austin Business Journal as one of Austin’s Top 10 Heavy Hitters in the Commercial Real Estate market and was designated as the 2006 Top Producer at Commercial Texas.
