Austin CBD is Back to the Future

Ten office towers equaling 3.6 million square feet of the city’s downtown commercial office buildings have new ownership. Half of downtown’s Class A space is owned by Thomas Properties Group Inc. who bought the Class A office properties for $1.15 billion from affiliates of Blackstone Real Estate Advisers.
Investors of all kinds expect Austin to produce a return on their investment.
But the “land grab” is drawing to a temporary close-- Crescent Real Estate Equities Co. is finalizing the sale of their three downtown properties and exiting the Austin market.
